Red Moon

Red Moon

With last night's Lunar Eclipse, it was an obvious choice for a blog entry. It's not as sharp as I would've liked - due to me being out in an open field where it was a bit breezy, coupled with the fact I've only got a basic tripod that at full height isn't the most stable of things... I think it's turned out OK though. (I'll get back to my crocus pics soon!)

Exifs:

Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
f 8
2 sec
300 mm
ISO 100
LENS

  • It is slightly blurred but it's a good shot all the same.

  • I like this moon shot, but I was amused by your comment that your "tripod that at full height isn't the most stable of things..." I assume that you were at full extention to get as close to the moon as possible, so I had to wonder how much different the photo would have been if the camera were 2 or 3 feet lower. Smile!

  • A really like the deep color you achieved in this one. Excellent capture of a difficult subject.

  • Hey I'd be very happy with this shot. Love the warmth of that moon. What type of lens were you using?

  • Problem is with shots of the moon people assume you have to have a really long shutter speed, when really they should go for the shortest one they can get at around f/5.6 onwards. As when you have a longer speed the Moons movement causes it to go out of focus.
    Nice grab tho!

  • Very nice...I like the glow at the top. My friend has a similar shot up on her site at the moment! Check it out here:
