Stone Face

Stone Face

The Parish Church in Halifax is almost 600 years old, and has some lovely architecture. There are a few stone faces around it (not sure you can call them gargoyles!), and this is my favourite. He looks kind of sad, or just plain fed up with life.

  • I like the composition and it's nice and sharp. It's quite creepy and I think that feeling would increase if you got the same shot on a cloudy day. This would allow you to bring out more detail in the shaded areas and would provide a much more dramatic, dark feeling to it. It's a great idea though and I really like it :)

  • Nice work. I always like architectural detail no matter from what era. You should do a series.

  • Yeh nice compostion and as Jon says a bit different lighting might have helped the shadow detail.
