Cape Daisy

Cape Daisy

I've gone the opposite here with a mono processed image of this Cape Daisy. I preferred how it looked this way, and liked the added contrast I could give to bring out the centre detail.

  • Really Nice focus. I like the black and white too.

  • Nice... it's almost abstract.

  • The b&w really turns it into much more of an abstract. I would still love to see the colour version.

  • Lovely shot. The blur seems to convey motion rather than out-of-focus - it really draws the eye to black center. Nice B&W work.

  • Lovely stuff. I wouldn't thought that a daisy without colour would've worked but it does.

I like very much that this is non-conformist photography. Not many would opt to go b&w with a macro let alone a floral subject macro. I tend to think the image leans more towards an abstract an abstract macro given the nature of the flower/petals that lose definition of form with the blur. But eseentially I think the image is very good in it's artstic connotations and high contrasts.

I'd like to know your thoughts on this::

  • Love the swirling shapes coming from the centre of the flower. Works well in B&W.
    Jon @ 2007-05-27
  • Amazing, and the B&W is very fitting. Love the softness and detailing...

  • Almost abstract. It looks a bit like a flower surrounded by flames. Nicely done!
