Wall Sign

I was in Harrogate yesterday, and was looking round for interesting things to take photos of. This old sign painted on the brickwork above a pub in the Montpellier Quarter area immediately caught my attention.

  • This makes a fine black and white image. I especially like the subtle gradations in the grays. Very carefully

  • Great tonal range and detail in this shot. B&W is perfect for it - It evokes decades past.

It's a great documentation of time weather and it's lasting but evetually overwhelming effects. I like the framing and how you've included the ornate architectural qualities at the top and bottom of the frame.
