All Alone

All Alone

On my way back from taking photos of my old school, I have to cut across a large grassy area/moor and spotted this lone dandelion in its last throes of life. Down on my belly as low as I could get I wanted it to be the sole item of focus. The darker band you see in the background is a row of trees about 300 metres away. I do believe this is also my 100th image.

  • The sole survivor. Nicely captured. Hope you don't suffer from summer allergies, otherwise lying with your nose in that grass will have cost you some red eyes and a runny nose (i speak from experience :) And congrats on the 100th pic!

  • Love that DOF and well worth getting down low :) Well done on getting up to 100!

  • Agree with Richard, the low angle and DOF make the shot. The composition is good too with the stalk on the right third. Think I'd have been tempted to position the flower head(?) on of the thirds intersections but I'm nitpicking. Good shot.

  • You did a fine job of getting down where this photo would work so well. Nice detail. Very well done.

  • Happy 100 - now make a wish. The out of focus green is sublime.
