Wooden door

Wooden door

This door always grabs my attention on my drive home from work, and for a while now, I've been meaning to take a shot of it. Next to it is a window that's made from stone, and instead of glass panes, they're stone too. I expect to get that picture uploaded as well.

  • Old doors are great. Did you do any processing on this? With some careful tinkering I reckon you could have brought out a bit more detail in the wood/stone. Did you get a picture with both the window and the door in too? I'd love to see that.

  • Cheers Jon. Yes, did some processing, and just couldn't get PS to do what I wanted with the door grain, (being a newcomer to its glory)

  • some people make PS seem so easy but there's just so much to learn! good shot!

  • I knew Jon would like this...and so do I! After seeing his pics of doors/textures, I tend to look out for them now. It's good to see the door in it's entirety...I think a close up of the door timber and the stone would also be fab. What about the possibility of posting a photo of the door once a month? - to see how the light changes the textures etc.

  • I have a shot of a Door from the IoM I think I will post it up tomorrow now!
The secret with PS is to get the hang of using Layer Masks for all the individual parts of the photo Groovy.
This looks good as is but with a bit of tinkering it would look gooder ;P
