This is the top of yesterday's "Bark" shot of a tree stump. I particularly like the well-weathered grain in it.

  • The grass background spoils this shot for me mate, it would have worked better without that and perhaps an nice bit of B & W.

  • I like the grass. I also think mono processing is overused on bark and texture shots, though I admit it's for a reason. Cliches usually come about because something works well.

  • I think both shots have their own merits. The colour one has that lovely warm light and natural colours and the mono one brings out the minute detail. The grass looks fine in both.
