Another from the set of Hardcastle Crags photos. Took a shot of one of the buildings next to Gibson Mill and whilst post-processing I thought the bench would make a much better focal point than the whole of the structure. I think you can see it's very weather-beaten

  • I DO like the colouring, textures and processing but maybe a little something extra is needed here. Perhaps another colour, or another object apart from the bench.

  • Love the saturated colour, a somber looking shot which I like a lot.

  • Looks almost HDR to me. Is it?

  • Not HDR no, Jamey. I'd done my processing on the original slightly cropped image, then when I decided that I wanted mainly the bench and cropped it even more to show just what you see, it seemed to intensify everything. I really like it like this too.

  • Knockout. It seems as though the bench is melting into the wall.

  • I like the de-saturated colouring on this and the way the mound on the left balances the composition of the image.

  • It looks camouflaged doesn't it. Like it's something natural. Nicely spotted.

  • The colours and textures are great, really like this crop.

  • Very cool. So much texture.

  • I like this shot a lot. Such minimal color in the stone wall and bench, yet such great detail, and set off so nicely by all that greenery in the foreground.
