Mooring Post

Mooring Post

A close up of one of the mooring posts that dot the edges of the boating lake at Shibden Park. I think the reeds/grass in the background is slightly off-putting - didn't really spot it at the time. I really wanted to capture the rust, flaking paint and texture that the late afternoon sun was bringing out in it.

  • Ah, full of texture and color... Just the way I like it! Will be very hard to unscrew this sucker! ;-)

  • Interesting shot. I like the color and texture of the main subject. I find that wire or branch in the background (that forms sort of an upsidedown "V") somewhat distracting.

  • Nice close focus and really nice colours on the post.

Yes the reeds do detract though mate, always good to do a bit of "gardening" before taking the shot.

  • Interesting angle! I like these closeup shots you have been taking. My only negative thoughts would be the blown highlights, I think this one would have looked even better slightly later in the day.
