Dried Rose II

Dried Rose II

I'd saved a couple of Valentine roses specifically for taking photos of. Once dried, this one was the most photogenic (and shapely) of them. Lit with natural light coming in from the left hand side.

  • I like the precise focus on the dried rose. The dark textures convey the over-the-hill
look the rose has. Nice one.

  • Very clean and strong image. The detail in the dried leaves is really nice. Almost feels like I can grab it! :)

  • Nice detail in the rose but I think I might have preferred a bit more light coming into the front to set off the layers a touch more.

  • I agree with Bob. I think some more light or slightly different processing could have enhanced the petals more. However, I really like the composition, the dark colours of the dried flower and the general idea.
